Fiona O’Carroll has confirmed that a new series of Mrs. Browns Boys is on the way.
The long-anticipated new season will land on our screens next year. It has been 10 years since the last episode aired, and the cast are to to dust off their acting skills soon as production begins this October.
Not only will fans of the show be treated to a new mini-series, there will also be two Christmas specials.
Fiona, who plays the loveable Maria Brown on the show told RTE Guide:
“In October we’ll be filming Mrs Brown: two Christmas specials and the first of a mini-series of four episodes, the other three early next year”
“We were supposed to be doing a mini series this year but, unfortunately, due to various different reasons it didn’t happen.”
“So, there is talk of it happening next year, a possible mini series. It is not just down to us, it is down to studio time, it is down to crew and it is down to cast.”
The show is also hitting the road, with them performing in Dublin and Belfast in November.
“We’ve the live show in November at the SSE Arena in Belfast and 3Arena in Dublin. And we’re planning more theatre dates for next year.”
Exact dates for when the mini-series will be released have not yet been confirmed.
