Florida Gators

The Florida Gators football team will open their 2017 season against the Tennessee Volunteers at Neyland Stadium on September 2nd. The game time is set for 7:30 PM EST.

This year’s Florida squad is headlined by a strong offensive line and talented duo of running backs. The Gators defense will be led by All-American cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III, who anchors a unit that also includes linebackers Jarrad Davis and Antonio Morrison.

There are many other intriguing storylines to follow this season, including how the newcomers fare competing alongside veterans like Hargreaves and defensive end Jonathan Bullard. The Gators hope to build off their 10-3 record from last season and make another run at SEC Championships in December.

Virginia Cavaliers

With just a week until the start of the regular season, Virginia has unveiled its game times for the upcoming year. The Cavaliers will open the season at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 9 against William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. UVA Athletic Director Craig Littlepage said that they have been working on new time slots since May and are excited to debut them this fall.“The idea was to try something new with opening night and make sure it was exciting for our fans,” Littlepage said. “We also wanted to be respectful of our opponents and their venues.“UVA will then play six home games in Charlottesville starting at 7 p.m.“We’re really excited about these new times,” Littlepage continued. “Our fans have spoken and we’ve listened. Colorado Buffaloes

The Colorado Buffaloes football team will kickoff the 2017 season on Saturday, September 2nd against San Diego State. The game is set for 9:00 PM MT in Denver and can be seen on ESPN2. The Buffaloes finished 3rd in the Pac-12 South last season and have a lot of returning players, including quarterback Sefo Liufau who was voted first-team All-Pac-12.

In order to prepare for their 2017 season, the Buffaloes took part in the Las Vegas Bowl last month. There, they faced off against Fresno State, losing 27-21. The game was close throughout and ended with a field goal as time expired.

Looking ahead to this year’s campaign, one thing that stands out is how explosive Colorado’s offense can be. Liufau has a tremendous arm and is able to make all the throws, so expect big plays from him and his receivers. They’ll also need their defense to step up if they hope to make it far in the playoffs this year.

Delaware Blue Hens

The Delaware Blue Hens will play their home games at historic Burton Stadium this season. The stadium has a seating capacity of 10,000 and was originally built in 1927. The Delaware Blue Hens are the only team in the Colonial Athletic Association that plays its home games outside of its home state.

The Blue Hens are led by fifth-year coach Rick Majerus and will be looking to improve on their 3-19 record from last season. Majerus is making some key changes to his roster this season, including adding 6-foot-8 freshman forward Emmanuel Mudiay with the No. 5 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Mudiay is considered one of the best young players in the country and should make an immediate impact for Delaware.

Other key contributors returning for Delaware this season include forwards Donte Dixon (13 points per game) and Jahlil Okafor (11 points per game), as well as guards Quinton Ross (15 points per game) and Isaiah Whitehead (14 points per game). Look for these players to help take down teams during conference play this year.

Minnesota Golden Gophers
